How We Grew A New Page 0-100k In 30 Days

The Full Breakdown

We noticed a WILD trend the last few months on Instagram.

Where instead of being a theme page, pages would niche down to a specific format within that theme.

They would then have call to actions on every single post to follow for that very niche niche you won’t find anywhere else.

These accounts EXPLODED.

1-2 million followers after a few posts type explosion.

Here are 3 examples:

So we had to test it for ourselves.

I came up with the idea to show the origins of where memes came from.

Since everyone knows the GIF’s but usually not the videos, I knew it was an angle.

We created a fresh account and found our first original meme video.

Most importantly like with the examples, we added the text above each video “If only there was a page that posted the origin of memes” which set the stage for folks to know it’s SUPER specific and to scroll through the page.

Videos started converting to followers at more than 10X the rate of normal pages. Single posts converting 10’s of thousands of followers immediately.

Fast forward a month and we’re closing in on 100k followers.

We did it solely to be able to prove it was possible from scratch (no help)

And to be able to give us confidence to apply for our agency clients/partners and our Hobby Letter family.

We even tried the format across some of our other platforms like Hoops Nation and Music Nation and have seen significant uptick in conversion with the Call To Actions on the posts themselves.

Lesson: More people follow when you ask them directly to!

I don’t make the rules.

So, most importantly, how can you apply these tactics to your existing brand as a media platform, company or creator? (or start fresh)
