5 Reasons We're Thankful For Social Media
Happy Thanksgiving from The Hobby Letter 🍗
Social media has changed the lives of every single person on our team. In honor of Thanksgiving, we wanted share five reasons we’re thankful for social media.
1) We’re Thankful For Free Advertising With Infinite Reach
20 years ago you if you wanted to get your message out in to the world, you had to pay for it. It didn’t matter what the marketing channel was, none of it was free. Today, you can promote your product or passion as often as you want, and if it’s good enough, you’ll reach more people than you ever could have dreamed of.
2) We’re Thankful For The People We’ve Met On Social Media
Social media gives you the ability to attract and connect with likeminded people from around the globe. Have a super unique interest no one else in your town has? That’s okay because social media lets you find and befriend people who have similar interests to you. These friendships can even lead to business opportunities you never would have had otherwise. Our entire team was built through social media connections and friendships.
Want to learn something new? No matter what it is, someone, somewhere on the internet has shared a tutorial or their learnings that not only help you learn more easily, but learn more quickly.
4) We’re Thankful Social Media Has Levelled The Playing Field
You know who uses social media? Everyone. From brand new creators to the biggest brands in the world, everyone is posting to the exact same platforms. We’re all playing on the same playing field and the advantage is with those who make the best content. There are creators racking up exponentially more views than some of the world’s biggest brands and they’re doing it from their bedrooms without spending a dollar.
Anyone, anywhere, can spend all their time building a career or a business in the EXACT and SUPER NICHE thing they want to. The power to change your life and live the life you want is now in your hands more than it has ever been before. You don’t need money to start, you can learn the skills, meet mentors, and get in front of more people than you ever thought possible… all with the device you’re reading this on right now.
Happy Thanksgiving from The Hobby Letter ❤️
